With appropriate application of springs and dampers, it is possible to reproduce a joint closely resembling that of an actual mantis.
Adjusting the tension of these components to a suitable degree would allow the unit to be modified to deliver powerful strikes in unarmed combat; however, as this particular Auto-Motion Machine was designed for ornamental purposes, such matters will not be addressed here.
